Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. White peas(dried) 2 cups
  2. Grated coconut 1/2 cup
  3. Grated carrot 1/2 cup
  4. Grated raw mango 1 cup
  5. Chopped onion 1
  6. Oil 2 teaspoon
  7. Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Chana dal 1/2 teaspoon
  9. Urad dal 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Asafoetida 1/4 teaspoon
  11. Paanipoori masala 1/2 teaspoon
  12. Curry leaves 2 sprigs
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Water to boil

Instructions

  1. SOAK WHITE PEAS OVERNIGHT. ADD SALT AND WATER TO PRESSURE COOK.
  2. PLACE IT IN A PRESSURE COOKER.
  3. PRESSURE COOK FOR 15 MINUTES. LET IT NOT OVER COOK AND BECOME MUSHY.
  4. WHITE PEAS IS WELL BOILED.GRATE CARROT, COCONUT AND RAW MANGO.CHOP ONION INTO SMALL PIECES.
  5. HEAT OIL IN A KADAI ON A MEDIUM HEAT.
  6. ADD MUSTARD SEEDS,CHANA DAL
  7. AND URAD DAL.
  8. LET IT SPLUTTER.ADD CHOPPED ONIONS AND SPRINKLE ASAFOETIDA AND MIX WELL.
  9. ADD TWO SPRIGS OF CURRY LEAVES.
  10. ADD HALF TEASPOON OF PAANI POORI MASALA POWDER TO ENHANCE THE TASTE.MIX WELL.
  11. ADD BOILED WHITE PEAS AND STIR FRY.
  12. ADD GRATED CARROT, COCONUT
  13. MIX WELL TILL IT IS WELL COMBINED.
  14. SWITCH OFF FLAME AND ADD GRATED RAW MANGO.
  15. THENGA MANGA PATTANI SUNDAL IS READY ..
  16. SUNDAL IS READY TO SERVE.
  17. THENGA MAANGA PATTANI SUNDAL IS SERVED IN PAPER CONES IN STREETS BY STREET VENDORS.
  18. GARNISH WITH A FINAL SPRINKLE OF CARROT AND RAW MANGO.
  19. IT'S READY TO CONSUME.
