ABOUT DO PYAZA FISH RECIPE

The staple diet of west bengal is rice and fish, no meal is completed with out fish dish and sweets. Fish do pyaza can be prepared with any variety of fish . This recipe is completely a devoure's delight for tongue . Fish has been important source of protein , nutrients and particularly omega-3 fatty acid. Fish are heart - friendly and helps in brain development of kids.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 400gm onion
  2. 3tsp ginger garlic paste
  3. 4 tomatoes(cut into small pieces)
  4. 400 gm rohu fish or any other river fish (cut into medium pieces and cleaned)
  5. 2tsp turmeric powder
  6. 1tbsp coriander powder
  7. 3tsp cumin powder (roasted)
  8. 1tsp red chilli powder
  9. 2 green chillies (chopped)
  10. 60-70gm coriander leaves (chopped)
  11. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the onions into medium sized pieces.sprinkle salt and 1tsp of turmeric powder on the fish pieces and keep aside for 10minutes.
  2. Place the onions, chopped tomatoes, all the spices and the chopped coriander leaves in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix all these ingredients together with a spoon . Take a non stick kadhai or a pan and place half the portion of the onion mixture at the bottom of the pan.
  4. Place the fish pieces on this and cover with the remaining Onion mixture.
  5. Cover with a lid and cook on a medium flame for 5minutes. Lowe the flame and cook for a further 5-6 minutes , stirring only once or twice , taking care that the fish pieces do not crumble .
  6. Cook till fish is tender and the onions took translucent.
  7. Serve hot with plain rotis
