About Hasselback Potato Recipe

Seasoned Potatoes are sliced into fans, drizzled with melted butter and bake till crispy.

Hasselback Potato

Ingredients to make Hasselback Potato

  • 4 large steak potatoes (or any baking variety)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Melted butter for basting

How to make Hasselback Potato

  1. Preheat oven 425 degF (200deg C).
  2. Scrub potatoes thoroughly. Wash and pat dry thoroughly. Combine all the rest of the ingredients except butter and pour in a ziploc bag.
  3. Slice off a thin portion off the side of the potato. Balance the potato on chopsticks or spoons on either ends and give 1/8" cuts to the potato without cutting through and through.
  4. Coat the potatoes well with prepared dressing. Shake the bag well so potatoes are well seasoned.
  5. Line a baking tray with oven proof parchment paper. Arrange potatoes on the parchment paper and apply remaining dressing in between the potato slices with a pastry brush.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes, remove from oven, baste them with butter and again bake in oven till they turn crisp (additional 30-40 minutes).
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve as an accompaniment to a dinner meal.
