Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Black chana....1 and 1/2 cup
  2. Dahi....1 cup
  3. Besan.. 2 table spoon
  4. Salt and green chillies to taste
  5. Turmeric powder...1/4 tea spoon
  6. Garam masala powder...freshly grounded is better...1 tea spoon
  7. Fenugreek seeds...1/2 tea spoon
  8. Cumin seeds....1/2 tea spoon
  9. Asafoetida... A pinch

Instructions

  1. Soak kala chana for 10 hours or more and pressure cook for 15 minutes or until done
  2. Crush fenugreek seeds and add in the boiled chana along with salt and all the masalas (leave little garam masala to be added on the final stage of cooking) and let it boil once again
  3. Whisk curd and besan along with few drops of water,nicely , so that no lumps are there and add in the boiling chanas
  4. Mix properly and let the gravy thickens.
  5. Add garam masala and serve kala chana maadra
  6. This is awesome dish (without onion and tomatoes)
