Spiced Poached Pear

Ingredients to make Spiced Poached Pear

  • Pear- 1
  • water- 2 cups
  • sugar- 2-3 tablespoons
  • honey- 2-3 tablespoons
  • cloves / Laung 3-4
  • cinnamon/ Dal Chini - 1 inch stick
  • star anise - 1
  • lemon - 1
  • cinnamon Powder for garnish

How to make Spiced Poached Pear

  1. Take water, sugar and honey and bring it to boil.
  2. Add spices to it.
  3. Cook Pear (peeled and cut in half, with seeds removed) till it has a bite.
  4. You can leave the pear in the juice and put it in the fridge. Serve with Cinnamon powder,

My Tip:

Take the leftover juice in a pan and reduce it at high heat. Reduce till it gets a syrup-like consistency. Turn off the heat. Squeeze a lemon. You can even grate a little zest for more flavour. Lemon here adds a lot to this otherwise monotonous dish. You can even use some Orange juice instead. Just that add it right at the time of reducing.
