ABOUT Nargisi Kofta RECIPE

Its a North Indian dish which is a combination of sweet khoya, panner and potatoes.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup sweet khoya
  2. 250 gms paneer
  3. 1 boiled potato smashed
  4. 4 green chillies chopped
  5. 1 tbsp cornflour
  6. Pinch tandoori colour (optional)
  7. oil for frying
  8. 3 onions sliced lengthwise
  9. 3 tomatoes chopped
  10. 1 cup cashewnuts paste (cashew nuts + milk)
  11. salt to taste
  12. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  13. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  14. 2 tbsp oil
  15. 2 tbsp butter
  16. 2 tbsp Kasturi methi
  17. 1 tsp coriander chopped


  1. In a pan add oil and fry the onions, tomatoes till the onion turns light pink. Turn off the gas and let it cool. Grind into a smooth paste.
  2. In a wok, add butter and fry kasturi methi, red chilli powder, the above paste. Fry till the oil separates out then add chopped coriander, garam masala powder and salt to taste.
  3. Add milk and/or water for the gravy. Depending upon the amount of gravy you want. Let it simmer.
  4. In a bowl add khoya, paneer and potatoes, mash it well then add chopped green chillies, coriander, salt. Mix well.
  5. Make ball shape koftas and deep fry it.
  6. Add it to the gravy and serve hot.
