ABOUT Fondant Potatoes RECIPE

Fondant potatoes is a version popular in England and France, butter is melted in a pan. The cut potatoes are placed in the butter with one flat side down until the side is thoroughly browned and crisp.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 50 grams salted butter
  2. 2potatoes, peeled, cut into barrel-shapes using a cookie cutter or you can shape it with a flat knife also
  3. 2 to 3 garlic cloves,slit it from between
  4. 2 sprigs of fresh thyme
  5. Salt and oregano flakes as per taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter over a medium heat in a saucepan. When the butter starts foaming, add the potatoes and fry until deep golden-brown on one side, about 5-6 minutes. (Do not move the potatoes as they cook.)
  2. Turn over the potatoes and cook for a further 5-6 minutes, or until golden-brown on both sides.
  3. Add garlic cloves and fresh thyme in the butter.
  4. Sprinkle some dash of salt and oregano flakes.
  5. Flip again gently.
  6. Enjoy your fondant potatoes.
