ABOUT Fondant Potatoes RECIPE

Fondant potatoes is a version popular in England and France, butter is melted in a pan. The cut potatoes are placed in the butter with one flat side down until the side is thoroughly browned and crisp.

Ingredients Serving: 2

50 grams salted butter
2potatoes, peeled, cut into barrel-shapes using a cookie cutter or you can shape it with a flat knife also
2 to 3 garlic cloves,slit it from between
2 sprigs of fresh thyme
salt and oregano flakes as per taste

Instructions

Heat the butter over a medium heat in a saucepan. When the butter starts foaming, add the potatoes and fry until deep golden-brown on one side, about 5-6 minutes. (Do not move the potatoes as they cook.)
Turn over the potatoes and cook for a further 5-6 minutes, or until golden-brown on both sides.
Add garlic cloves and fresh thyme in the butter.
Sprinkle some dash of salt and oregano flakes.
Flip again gently.
Enjoy your fondant potatoes.
