About Tomato Rasam Recipe

Its a South Indian dish, which is eaten with rice. Good for digestion.

Tomato Rasam

Ingredients to make Tomato Rasam

  • 1 handful of sambar dal
  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • 5 to 6 garlic pods
  • 1 cup coriander& mint leaves chopped
  • 2 to 3 green chillies
  • 1 cup tamarind pulp
  • 2 tsp black pepper pd
  • salt to taste
  • 1tsp red chilli pd
  • 4 to 5 dry red chilli
  • 4 to 5 curry leaves
  • 1tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp jeera

How to make Tomato Rasam

  1. Pressure cook sambar dal, tomato chopped for 4 whistles then turn off the gas smash it nicely. In a Kadai add oil, fry curry leaves, jeera , dry red chilli, then add the grounded paste ( garlic pods, black pepper powder, coriander, mint leaves, green chillies ) mix well then add red chilli pd mix well then add 1 tbsp rasam pd mix well then add the cooked dal keep stirring till 1 boil comes then add salt, tamarind pulp and mix well.Serve hot.

My Tip:

If you want spicy then you can add black pepper powder as it is good for digestion.
