About Kourabiedes Recipe

Kourabiedes are Greek butter cookies. They are so yummy in taste and can easily be made.


Ingredients to make Kourabiedes

  • butter from cow's milk - 125 gm
  • almond chopped and roasted - 75 gm
  • pistachios - 25 gm
  • Icing sugar- 40 gm
  • Rose water - 1/2 tbsp
  • Vanilla Essence - 1/2 tsp
  • Baking Powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • maida - 150 gm
  • pinch of salt.
  • Some icing sugar to sprinkle

How to make Kourabiedes

  1. Pre heat the oven at 200°
  2. Roast the almonds and Pistachios. Let them cool down.
  3. Then blend them to make powder.
  4. Now in a bowl, mix cold butter and sugar . Mix for 10 sec thoroughly.
  5. Add almond-Pistachios powder in it . Mix well.
  6. Add pinch of salt, rose water n vanilla essence. Again mix thoroughly.
  7. Now add baking powder and maida.
  8. Mix.
  9. For the fluffy kourabeides dont get the butter warm so don't do with your hands, wear gloves instead.
  10. Now the batter is ready.
  11. Make small flat balls, press them from centre. Make the size as you wish.
  12. Take a baking tray. Put parchment paper and place the balls in it.
  13. Bake them at 180C for 18-20 min.
  14. Bake it till light golden tint. Dont over bake.
  15. Take out of the oven and let cool.
  16. Then spray some rose water n sprinkle icing sugar on it.
  17. The tasty and yummy Greek butter Cookies are ready.

My Tip:

These can be made in microwave too. I tried both ways. In microwave at full temperature it takes just 5-6 min. Keep checking. Over time can make them hard .
