Yesterday's krishna jeyanthi celebration was ended with excess vada batter... so i planned to do moor kuzhambu using that... it came out well and i loved it!!!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Vada batter - 1cup
  2. Curd - 1cup
  3. Grated coconut - 2tbs
  4. Toor dhal - 2tsp
  5. Chena dhal - 1 tsp
  6. Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  7. Green chilli - 2
  8. Ginger - 1 inch
  9. Salt - as per the requirement
  10. Mustard seeds - 1tsp
  11. Dry red chilli - 1
  12. Hing - 1 pinch
  13. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  14. Water as required
  15. Oil - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan to fry vadas... put small size vadas in the oil and keep it aside
  2. Soak rice, toor dhal and chena dhal in water for 30 minutes.
  3. Mix the curd with salt and water. Beat the curd and make it into butter milk consistency. Add turmeric powder in that.
  4. Take a blender and add grated coconut,green chilli,ginger,rice,toor dhal , chena dhal , cumin seeds. Make into a smooth paste ...
  5. Put the grinded paste in a pan .. add more water to make it watery consistency... make it to boil for few minutes...
  6. Now the mixture will get little thicker... switch off the flame and allow it cool down for 5 mins
  7. Then add butter milk in it and mix it well... now add the vadas in to it...
  8. In another kadai add oil and put mustard seeds,red chilli,curry leaves and hing..
  9. Put the tempering into the gravy... now the vada moor kuzhambu is ready!!
