ABOUT Nargisi Kofta RECIPE

These Koftas are meatballs marinated in spices, draped around hard boiled eggs and rolled on breadcrumbs and fried.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Chicken Mince 1 lb (washed and drained thoroughly)
  2. 6 eggs
  3. 1 chopped finely minced onion
  4. 3-4 Green Chilies
  5. 7-8 garlic cloves
  6. 1" ginger
  7. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  8. Chopped coriander leaves
  9. Salt and black pepper powder
  10. Maida+Breadcrumbs (2:1 tsp)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in pan and fry the onion to light golden brown. Cool. Coarsely grind green chilies, ginger and garlic.
  2. Add the onion, chilli paste, Garam masala powder, black pepper and salt to the mince. Marinate in refrigerator for at least 30 mins.
  3. Meanwhile boil eggs roughly 20 mins, (prick just the shell at broad end without going too deep; this way the eggs will remain intact). Cool and remove shell. Pat dry thoroughly and roll the eggs in flour.
  4. Oil hand. Take the mince in hand. Make a hollow and place the egg in it. Close it with mince without any gaps. Combine flour and breadcrumbs.
  5. Roll the kofta in it and deep fry or shallow fry as per preference. While serving, cut into halves
