Ingredients to make Cheese Crackers

  • 1 cup All Purpose (maida)/whole wheat/multigrain flour
  • 1/4 cup Flax seed meal (powdered flax/Alsi seeds)
  • 1/4 cup Flax seeds
  • 1/3 cup Grated cheese (cheddar/peeper jack/Parmesan)
  • 1 tsp kalonji (onion seeds)
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp softened unsalted butter (or 2 tbsp oil)
  • 3-4 tbsp water

How to make Cheese Crackers

  1. Preheat oven to 325 Deg F (160 Deg C).
  2. In a big bowl, mix all ingredients to form a firm dough. Take a parchment paper. Dust it with flour and roll the dough in big thin round circle (like chapati). With pizza cutter/knife, cut in squares/diamonds or any desired shapes.
  3. Pierce the squares with fork.
  4. Line a baking tray with nonstick parchment paper. Arrange the squares on the tray and bake for 25-30 minutes or till light brown color turning the tray once in-between baking time for even baking.
  5. Remove from oven and cool them down thoroughly. Pack in airtight container.
