ABOUT Cheesy Mushroom-GreenPeas Sandwiches RECIPE

I was expecting a few guests for dinner and for reason they could not reach at night. I had prepared Mushroom and Greenpeas curry for the guests. A bowl full of curry got leftover. So today morning I decided to give it a makeover by making cheesy buttery Mushroom-GreenPeas sandwiches for my family. They are yummy and got vanished in no time. Same way any left over curry can be used to prepare these Sandwiches.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Bowl of leftover curry
  2. 10 brown bread slices
  3. 5 tablespoons grated cheese
  4. 3-4 teaspoons butter melted
  5. 2 teaspoon oil
  6. salt as per taste
  7. 1 teaspoon freshly crushed pepper
  8. 1 teaspoon freshly crushed cumin
  9. 2 meduim size onions

Instructions

  1. I m using my leftover Mushroom-GreenPeas curry for this dish. I removed all the peas and mushroom from the gravy with a ladle.
  2. Chop onions finely. Grate cheese. Melt butter and keep ready.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add chopped onions.
  4. When onions are soft add crushed pepper, cumin and salt and mix.
  5. Add mushroom and peas and saute well.
  6. Set this mixture aside. This is our sandwich filling.
  7. Take a slice of bread, apply butter and spread the filling. Spread grated cheese generously.
  8. Take another slice of bread and apply butter and place over the prepared bread with filling
  9. Toast over a grill tawa like I did. Gently pressing so that the bread sticks well with filling
  10. Yummy sandwiches are ready to be relished with sauce or chutney of your choice. I enjoyed mine with morning tea
