About Murukku Recipe

A very tasty South Indian tea time snack

Murukku

Ingredients to make Murukku

  • Rice flour 1 cup
  • Urad dal flour - 1/2 cup
  • sesame seeds -1/2 tsp
  • Carrom seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • asafoetida- 1 pinch
  • butter- 1/4th cup
  • salt - acc to taste
  • water for kneading the dough
  • oil for frying

How to make Murukku

  1. Sieve rice flour and dal flour in a bowl
  2. Add all the dry ingredients and mix
  3. Add butter and mix
  4. Add water to knead a soft dough
  5. Now grease a chakali press and put some dough in it , make chakali and fry till golden brown on medium flame .
  6. Once cool stir in a air tight jar .

My Tip:

I added butter to it which made the murukku really crunchy and soft too
