This is nutritious oil free holige or poli.Groundnut Holige(Shenga Holige) is a North Karnataka speciality and it can also be stored up to a week.

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. Wheat flour 1 cup
  2. Maida 1/2 cup
  3. oil 2 tbsp
  4. Salt
  5. Groundnut 1/2cup
  6. Sesame seeds 1/2 cup
  7. Jaggry 3/4 cup(As per taste)
  8. Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  9. Milk 3/4cup(as required for making a daugh)
  10. Ghee 2 Tbsp

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the ground nut in the medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring after every minute for even cooking.Dry roast the sesame seeds for 2 minutes in medium flame. Grind the roasted sesame seeds to a fine powder.Remove the skin of the groundnut and grind to a fine powder. Powder the jaggery well.
  2. Mix the powdered sesame, Groundnut, jaggery and cardamom and one more time grind everything together. Sprinkle a spoon of milk, mix well and keep it aside. This is used as the filling.
  3. Make a soft dough with maida and wheat flour, adding hot oil and required amount of worm milk. It should be like chapathi dough.
  4. Roll out the dough, place the filling, cover and roll again to a thin poli, using the flour for easy rolling.Heat a tawa on a medium flame and cook both sides of the polis till brown spots appear and apply some ghee on both sides.
  5. Enjoy these poli with or without ghee.
