ABOUT Tawa Veg Polau RECIPE

Its a popular food of Maharashtra,specially in Mumbai. If you have leftover cooked rice then you can make it easily for lunch or tiffin.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Cooked rice-1 cup
  2. Cumin-1/2 teaspoon
  3. Butter- 1teaspoon
  4. Oil-1 teaspoon
  5. Ginger Garlic paste-2 tsp
  6. Tomato chopped-1
  7. Pav vaji masala-2 teaspoons
  8. Capsicum -1 chopped
  9. Carrots -1/4 cup (optional)
  10. Peas-1/2 cup
  11. Onion-1 chopped
  12. Cauliflower florets -1/2 cup (small cut)
  13. Boiled potatoes-1 cut into small pieces
  14. Coriander powder -1 teaspoon
  15. Red chili powder -1teaspon
  16. Salt to taste
  17. Lemon juice-1 teaspoon
  18. Coriander chopped -1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Heat butter and oil in a frying pan
  2. Add cumin seeds..let them splutter
  3. Add chopped onion...Fry until light brown
  4. Add ginger garlic paste, fry until raw smell goes away
  5. Add chopped tomatoes..Fry until cooked properly
  6. Add chopped capsicum, cauliflower florets,peas ,carrots ,boiled potatoes and mix and fry all together properly
  7. Add pav vaji masala, coriander powder,red chili powder and salt..mix everything all together
  8. Add cooked rice. Mix with masala and cook for 2 minutes
  9. Switch off the gas
  10. Add lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves
