ABOUT WALNUT PESTO PASTA RECIPE

Try out the delicious and healthy walnut pesto pasta. Pesto sauce is made with basil leaves and walnuts or pine nuts, either one can be used.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Penne Pasta ... 1 cup
  2. Basil leaves .... 1 cup
  3. Garlic .......... 2-3 cloves (optional )
  4. Vinegar ...... 1 tbsp (optional)
  5. Walnuts ......... 4
  6. Cheese ......... 1 tbsp (grated)
  7. Cream ........ 1 tbsp
  8. Olive oil .....5-6 tbsps
  9. White / black pepper ... to taste
  10. Salt ......... to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pan pour 5-6 cups of water. Add salt and a tbsp of oil. Boil the pasta until almost done but not mushy. Drain and run under cold water. Pour a little oil to keep them seperate.
  2. Grind the basil adding walnuts, vinegar, garlic, cheese and add the oil little by little while grinding.
  3. In a pan add a little oil and pour the pesto sauce. Stir it for half a minute.
  4. Tip in the boiled pasta. Mix a spoon of cream and temper with salt and black pepper. If you want a thinner consistency you can add a little milk.. Serve immediately.
