Ingredients Serving: 12

  1. 3/4th Cup Masoor Dal/Red lentil
  2. 1” piece of Ginger
  3. 7-8 garlic cloves
  4. 1 green chilli
  5. 1 tsp cumin powder
  6. 2 cloves crushed to powder
  7. 4 green cardamom (powdered) or 1/4th tsp green cardamom powder
  8. 3 tbsp corn flour
  9. 1/4th cup paneer grated
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 1/4th tsp black salt
  12. ½ tsp Degi Mirch powder or to taste
  13. ½ tsp anardana powder
  14. 1 tsp chaat masala
  15. ½ piece of bread( made into crumbs in mixer)
  16. 1 tsp Lemon juice
  17. 1 small onion finely chopped
  18. 1/4th cup grated cabbage
  19. 1/4th cup capsicum finely chopped
  20. Oil to fry/ Pan sear
  21. 1 tsp Malai / Butter


  1. Soak the masoor Dal for 2 hours.
  2. Strain the water and grind to paste in a mixer.
  3. Now to this mix,add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
  4. Now,take small portions and press on a skewer to make seekh kababs.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry these kababs on medium flame till golden brown on all sides.You may use less oil just enough to grease the kababs,as it has malai in it and too much oil will break them too.
  6. If your batter is a bit too soft then you may coat the kababs with cornflour before frying.Serve hot with mint chutney and tomato sauce.
