ABOUT Banana Nutella Cake RECIPE

Even though banana is one of my favorite fruits, I am not a big fan of banana cake. This is the second time I baked a banana cake and it turned out so much better than the first time. I think it was the chocolaty-hazelnuty flavor from Nutella that did the magic. It just hit the right spot, was incredibly moist and not overly sweet. Perfect with a cup of tea!

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 2 ripe bananas
  2. 1-1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  3. 1 cup sugar
  4. 1/2 cup nutella
  5. 1/2 cup warm water
  6. 3/4 cup olive oil
  7. 3 eggs
  8. 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  9. 2 tbsp milk
  10. 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  11. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  12. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  13. 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Pre heat the oven to 170 C.
  2. Whisk egg with sugar until it’s combined to a smooth consistency in a bowl. Pour oil and give it another whisk.
  3. Next, add nutella and whisk again.
  4. Mash the bananas and add it to the egg mixture in a small bowl.
  5. In another separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  6. Pour this to the egg mixture little bit at a time and whisk. Once combined, add water, milk and vanilla extract. Whisk again.
  7. Pour the batter in a 9 inch round pan and bake it for 50-55 minutes.
