Sharab Tamr Hendi is a very popular drink in Middle east. SSharab Tamr hendi is a drink made with indian (Hendi) tamarind (Tamr) and consumed in Ramadan.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/3 cup tamarind
  2. 1 glass water
  3. 4-5 tbsp sugar (adjust if it is too sour)
  4. 1/4 tsp Salt
  5. 2 glass water
  6. Ice cubes to serve
  7. Mint for garnish

Instructions

  1. Soak tamarind in water for about 2 hours. After 2 hours strain the pulp removing seeds and skin.
  2. In a pan mix together sugar & salt with pulp.Cook till sugar has dissolved.
  3. Cool & refrigerate.
  4. Divide the prepare syrup into two glasses. Add in water & serve chilled with ice cubes and mint.

use jaggery instead of sugar, it is more beneficial during summer,
