About Dry Mushroom Manchurian Recipe

This is a favorite snack and starters for all mushrooms lovers. I like mushrooms because it is a rich source of protein and has an earthy flavor. Here is my recipe of preparing the dry mushrooms manchurian snacks and starters.

Dry Mushroom Manchurian

Ingredients to make Dry Mushroom Manchurian

  • Ingredients for the batter :
  • 250 gms whole mushrooms washed, cleaned and sliced into half. (If the mushrooms are big, quarter slice them.)
  • 4 tbsp cornstarch or cornflour
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Little water as required
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 green chillies finely chopped or grated
  • Ingredients for the manchurian:
  • 1 tbsp refined oil
  • 2 mini bell peppers (any color you like)
  • 1 tbsp of finely chopped white part of green onions
  • 3 tbsp of finely chopped green leaves of the green onions
  • 1 tsp garlic finely chopped or grated
  • 3 tbsp hot sauce (or mix 2 tbsp tomato ketchup and 1 tbsp sriracha sauce)
  • oil for frying

How to make Dry Mushroom Manchurian

  1. Mix cornstarch or corn flour, all purpose flour, soya sauce, salt, garlic, green chillies and just enough water in a bowl to make a thick yet flowing batter. Add the cut mushrooms and leave the marinade for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat sufficient oil in a deep heavy bottomed pan to fry the mushrooms. Deep fry the mushrooms on medium high heat till they turn crispy and golden. Drain the excess oil by resting the mushrooms manchurian on a kitchen paper towel.
  3. Heat a separate pan and add 1 tbsp oil. Saute the white onions and the garlic at medium high for 2-3 minutes till the raw smell of the garlic goes away and the onions become soft and translucent.
  4. Add the chopped green leaves and bell peppers. Saute on medium high for 3 minutes. Add the fried mushrooms and the hot sauce. Stir and mix. Saute on medium high for another 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the dry mushrooms manchurian from the heat. Transfer it to a serving bowl and serve it hot.
