ABOUT Tomato Basil Pasta Soup ! RECIPE

This Soup is Insanely Delicious. This is my version of soup recipe. Just the thing for a cold wintry night. Here is a wonderfully easy and innovative recipe for traditional Indian tomato soup. It is ready in a jiffy, tastes wonderful, and acts as a lovely side-dish or appetizer. Serve it with a Garlic Bread and you are in heaven."

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 4-5 Medium Sized Tomatoes Cut into Half
  2. 1 Cup Pasta Boiled
  3. 1-2 tsp Cooking Oil
  4. 4-5 Peppercorns
  5. 2 tsp Coriander Seeds
  6. 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  7. 1 Small Piece Cinnamon
  8. 1 Black Cardamom
  9. 1/3 Cup Sliced Onion
  10. 6 Garlic Cloves
  11. 2 tsp Ginger Chopped
  12. 1/2 Cup Carrots, Diced (Optional)
  13. Fresh Basil Leaves
  14. 3/4 tsp Paprika Powder
  15. 6 Cups Water
  16. Salt to taste
  17. 1 Cup Coriander Stems
  18. Coriander for Garnishing


  1. In a Pan on a medium flame add Oil and add all the spices. Cook all the spices lightly.
  2. Now add the onion, garlic, ginger and carrots. Cook well for 2-3 mins.
  3. Add the Paprika powder. Stir and add tomatoes.
  4. Add little water and salt. Cook well for about 3-4 mins covering with a lid.
  5. Now open the lid to check the tomatoes have soften. Add 6 Cups water to the pan.
  6. Also add the coriander stems. Cover with a lid and cook for about 20-25 mins.
  7. Let it simmer and cook till tomatoes and the carrots are mashed up.
  8. Now strain the mixture using a sieve keep mashing until you a get a thick soup consistency. Collect it another bowl.
  9. Now take the soup in another pan on a low flame. Tear in few basil leaves add to the soup.
  10. Add the cooked pasta to the soup. Let it simmer for sometime.
  11. Adjust Salt if needed.
  12. The Soup is now ready and transfer it to the bowl.
  13. Enjoy the Hot Tomato Basil Pasta Soup.
