Cauliflower Nuggets

Ingredients to make Cauliflower Nuggets

  • cauliflower florets blanched and finely ground: 2 cups (Two small heads cauliflower cut into florets)
  • Green capsicum: 1 small chopped
  • onion: 1 small chopped
  • Green chilies: 1-2 finely chopped
  • Parmesan cheese: 4 tbsp.
  • ginger garlic paste: 1tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder: ½ tsp
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • Fresh Bread crumbs: 3 slices of bread (I used whole-wheat bread)
  • Mozzarella Cheese: 3 tbsp (may stuff or mix)

How to make Cauliflower Nuggets

  1. Pre heat the oven to 200 degree Celsius.
  2. • Heat 5 cups of water on a saucepan with 1 tsp. of salt. Bring to boil and put the cauliflower florets in.Boil covered for 5 minutes and switch off the flame. Let it sit in hot water covered for another 5 minutes and drain the water.
  3. Transfer the florets in a tray to cool.
  4. Meanwhile, chop the capsicum, onion, green chili. Grind 3 slices of bread in the processor for crumbs.
  5. Grind the cooled florets in the food processor. Transfer the ground florets to a bowl.
  6. • Now add the chopped capsicum, onion and green chilies. Add the bread crumbs, egg and ginger garlic paste. Add in the salt, pepper, parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Mix well and make nugget shapes and place on to a greased baking tray or lined tray.
  8. Place all the nuggets and brush them with oil.
  9. Bake them on 200 dc for 20-25 minutes depending on your oven till golden brown. Turn sides after 10 minutes once done on one side.
  10. Alternately, you may pan fry them with 2 tbsp. of oil till done.(if you do not have an oven)
  11. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or mayo dip of your choice.

My Tip:

The consistency of the mixture should be like mashed potatoes.
