ABOUT Methi Kebab !! RECIPE

Most of you are aware of Aloo methi sabzi and continuing the same taste but with a tweak here and there made these Methi kebabs that remind me of Hara bhara kebab too !! These are loaded with the cool mint leaves and slightly bitter , nutty flavoured Methi leaves...These serve as perfect tea time accompaniment and also serve as a starter too ...just a dip into tomato ketchup is what all it needs !!

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 4 medium sized : potatoes , boiled , peeled and mashed
  2. 1 cup packed : fenugreek leaves , blanched
  3. 1/2 cup : Mint or pudina leaves , finely chopped
  4. 1/2 cup : coriander leaves , finely chopped
  5. 4 nos : Green chillies , finely chopped
  6. 1/2 cup : Frozen or fresh peas
  7. 1/2 tsp : Garam masala powder
  8. 1 tsp : Aamchoor or dry mango powder
  9. salt to taste
  10. 1/2 cup : Roasted chick pea flour / besan


  1. In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients mentioned and knead into a dough like texture with the moisture of boiled and mashed potatoes. (No need to add any extra liquid..)
  2. Once kneaded shape them into round tikki's, the mentioned ingredients yield about 10 decent sized kebabs ..
  3. Meanwhile start heating up a pan on medium heat with around 2 to 3 tbsp of oil.
  4. Now pan fry the shaped kebabs until golden on both the sides .
  5. Once golden fried remove and serve with ketchup .
  6. A perfect crowd pleaser loaded with flavours is ready to slurp !! Happy tea time folks !!
