Ingredients: Tomatoes - 6 big ones washed and cut into cubes; Green chillies - 5 cut small; Garlic cloves- 10 to 15 cut into medium size pieces; Kashmiri red chilly powder- 1 tspn; Spicy red chilly powder- 1/4 tspn(optional); Asafoetida- 1/4 tspn; Salt to taste; Vinegar- 2 tbspn; Mustard Seeds- 1 tspn; Curry leaves - few; Gingelly oil - 2 tbspn; Jeera powder- 1/4 tspn; Roasted Methi seeds powder- 1/4 tspn

ABOUT Instant Tomato Pickle !! (South Indian style) RECIPE

This is a very easy and tasty pickle...and can be served as an accompaniment with dosa,idli or with curd rice also.

Ingredients Serving: 4

Tomatoes - 6 big ones washed and cut into cubes
Green chillies - 5 cut small
Garlic cloves- 10 to 15 cut into medium size pieces
Kashmiri red chilly powder- 1 tspn
Spicy red chilly powder- 1/4 tspn(optional)
Asafoetida- 1/4 tspn
Salt to taste
Vinegar- 2 tbspn
Mustard Seeds- 1 tspn
Curry leaves - few
Gingelly oil - 2 tbspn
Jeera powder- 1/4 tspn
Roasted Methi seeds powder- 1/4 tspn

Instructions

Wash the tomatoes and cut it.
Now in a small bowl put about 1 and half tbspn water and mix the Kashmiri red chilly powder in it and make a paste
Now take a pan heat it.... put oil ...Then add mustard seeds.. .
After it splutters put asafetida powder, chopped green chillies, garlic & curry leaves ...Saute for two minutes
Then add the red chilly paste and let it cook on low flame for a minute
Then add chopped tomatoes....
Put salt and let it cook well till soft...
Now add jeera powder and roasted methi seeds powder... Pour vinegar....Mix well.. If you like add the spicy red chilly powder also....
Again cook for five minutes then turn off the gas....
Keep it in a bottle and then inside the refrigerator
Use it as and when required
