Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Tomato 4 big
  2. onion 1 big chopped
  3. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  4. Asfoetida 1 pinch
  5. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  7. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  8. Green chilli slit 2
  9. oil 2 tbsp
  10. Fresh Curry leaves 8
  11. Roasted chana powder 1 tsp
  12. Roasted sesame seeds powder 1 tsp
  13. Thick Coconut milk 1/2 cup
  14. Salt 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Roast sesame seeds in a hot griddle.Make a fine powder of sesame seeds and roasted gram.Set this aside for a while.
  2. Dip tomatoes in a boiling water for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the skin and discard the core as well and chop the tomatoes.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin and mustard seeds.When they sizzle add curry leaves.
  5. Add green chillies and hing.
  6. Add chopped onion and ginger garlic paste .When they turn pink add turmeric powder and chopped tomatoes.
  7. Fry for 4 minutes till they become soft.
  8. Add red chilli powder ,roasted gram and sesame seeds powder.
  9. Mix and cook for 1 minute. Add salt Prepare coconut milk or use ready made.
  10. Add coconut milk.Curry begins to bubble up in a minute.Switch off the gas.
  11. Serve hot with rice ,chapathi or puris.
