Fried Lentil Cakes are made from Chana dal (Bengal Gram). The Chana Dal is soaked overnight, grind coarsely, steamed or fried with spices, then cooled , cut into diamond shaped pieces and then fried again to make it crispy. They are served as snacks with tea. These crispy lentil cakes can also be used in a curry.
