Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 500 grams fresh ripe tomatoes
  2. 50 grams sugar
  3. 2 tablespoon white vinegar
  4. 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder/paprika
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1/2 cup water or even lesser

Instructions

  1. Rinse the tomatoes thoroughly and chop them roughly
  2. transfer them into a pressurecooker and add water enough to cook it. cook the tomatoes until 2-3 whistles.Alternatively combine tomatoes and water to boil them until the tomatoes soften in a saucepan
  3. let the tomatoes cool off a bit
  4. Transfer them into a blender
  5. blend into a smooth purée
  6. sieve the purée into a bowl, thus separating the seeds/skin
  7. place a non stick wok or heavy bottom saucepan on the stove and heat it
  8. add the tomato purée in the saucepan and let it come to a boil
  9. once boiling, reduce heat and add the seasonings one by one and mix
  10. keep cooking the sauce in Low heat until it thickens to the desired consistency
  11. turn off the heat and transfer the sauce to a sterilised ceramic or glass container
  12. let the sauce cool completely before usage
  13. enjoy your home made delicious tomato sauce with sandwiches, burgers, fries, etc
