ABOUT Tomato Rice RECIPE

It is a comfort food, which will be ready in no time and yet full of flavors. The tangyness of tomato and hotness of chillies make it soulful.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Rice- 1/2 cup, water- 2 cups
  2. Tomato-1 big, green chilli- 2
  3. Oil- 1 tsp, jeera- 1 tsp, salt- to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the rice for 15 min. In a pan put oil, jeera. When the jeera start cracking add your rice into it and 2 cups of water and salt to taste.
  2. Slit the tomato in a cross, put the chilli into the slits. Place the tomato in the middle of pan. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tsp red chilli powder on the top of tomato.
  3. Cover the pan cook the rice. When the rice are completely cook, mash the tomato little bit with a help of a spoon. Serve hot, enjoy with a salad or curd.
