A delicious kadhi,here tomato puree is used instead of curd.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Fresh medium sized tomatoes 4nos.
  2. Oil 2table spoon.
  3. Mustard seeds 1tea spoon.
  4. Fennel seeds 1tea spoon.
  5. Fenugreek seeds 1tea spoon.
  6. Asafoetida 1pinch.
  7. Curry leaves 4nos.green chillies 4nos.
  8. Garlic cloves 6nos.
  9. Ginger 1"piece.
  10. Red chilly powder 1tea spoon.
  11. Turmeric powder 1tea spoon.
  12. Salt to taste.
  13. Besan 1/4cup.
  14. Chopped coriander leaves 1/2cup.
  15. For Tampering:
  16. Oil 2table spoon.
  17. Green chillies 4nos.
  18. Cumin seeds 1tea spoon.

Instructions

  1. Chop 2tomatoes and put in a blender.Add ginger and garlic.
  2. Blend to a fine paste by adding some water.Keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan.Add fenugreek seeds,fennel seeds,mustard seeds,asafoetida and curry leaves.
  4. Chop another 2tomatoes.Add to pan .
  5. Stir well ,add salt and 1/2cup water.Cover and cook on low flame for 4 minutes.
  6. Now add pureed tomatoes,red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
  7. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  8. Add 1cup water and cook on low flame for 5minutes after covering pan.
  9. Take 1/2cup water in a bowl add besan to make a smooth paste.
  10. Add to tomato gravy.Ster well .
  11. Add 2cups of water ,cover and cook on low flame for 20minutes.
  12. Adjust kadhi to your desired consistency.
  13. Heat 2table oil in a tampering pan.Add longitudinally slit green chillies and cumin seeds.
  14. When start to splattet,add to kadhi.
  15. Cover and leave for 2_3minutes.
  16. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  17. Serve hot with boiled rice.
