Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bottle gourd 1 cup(cut in to small cubes)
  2. Green chillies 4
  3. fresh curd 1/2 cup
  4. Shredded fresh coconut 1/2 cup
  5. Mustard seeds 1/4 tea spoon
  6. cumin seeds 1/2 tea spoon
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Oil 2 table spoons
  9. For tempering (mustard,cumin,black gram,curry leaves)
  10. Asafoetida 1/4 tea spoon
  11. water 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Firstly wash and peel the bottle gourd and cut in to small pieces
  2. Heat a pan,add 2 table spoons oil in to it
  3. Add mustard and cumin seeds in to it
  4. Once it pops out, add green chillies to it and fry them
  5. Now add bottle gourd pieces and mix it by adding salt to it
  6. Add water and cook the pieces well
  7. Now add shredded fresh coconut to it.
  8. Mix it well and turn off the stove
  9. Allow it to cool
  10. Take this in to a mixie jar and grind it in to a coarse paste
  11. Now take this chutney in to a bowl and add fresh curd in to it
  12. Mix it well
  13. Now heat a pan for tempering and add oil to it
  14. Add mustard,cumin,black gram,curry leaves and asafoetida to it
  15. Add this tempering to the bottle gourd curd chutney and mix it
  16. Bottle gourd sasive is ready to serve
