Italian Focaccia with Sun dried Tomato and Capsicum

ABOUT Italian Focaccia with Sun dried Tomato and Capsicum RECIPE

Focaccia is an Italian bread with lots of herbs. It is very flavourful bread. Here I have used dried tomatoes and bell pepper to make it more tastier.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 125 gram whole wheat flour
  2. 125 gram all purpose flour
  3. 7 gram active dry yeast
  4. 1 tsp sugar
  5. 1 tsp salt
  6. 1 tsp garlic powder
  7. 1 tsp Pizza Seasoning
  8. 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  9. 1 tsp chili flakes
  10. 150 ml water
  11. 3 tbsp refined oil
  12. 1 tbsp butter
  13. 1/2 cup caramelized onion
  14. 1/2 cup sun dried tomato
  15. 1 capsicum cut into thin slices
  16. Grated cheese as required to spread on top

Instructions

  1. In a bowl take 50 ml warm water.
  2. Add sugar and yeast and keep aside for 10 minutes to activate the yeast.
  3. In a mixing bowl take flour, sugar, garlic powder and oil.
  4. Add the yeast mixture and start kneading.
  5. At first the dough will be very sticky.
  6. Knead for 10-15 minutes for a shiny and elastic dough.
  7. Keep covered for 45 min to 1 hr in any warm place for rising.
  8. The dough will be doubled.
  9. Then take out the dough and knead it for 5 more minutes.
  10. Roll it in a 1" thick sheet.
  11. Place it in a greased baking pan square or rectangle loaf pan.
  12. Set aside 30 minutes for 2nd rise.
  13. After that with the help of fingers make impressions on bread.
  14. Top with sun dried tomatoes, caramelized onions and capsicum.
  15. Preheat oven to 180C for 10 minutes.
  16. Brush the bread with butter.
  17. Bake it for 25-30 minutes.
  18. After baking sprinkle cheese over it and grill for 5 min or until the cheese melts.
  19. Brush with butter, slice and serve with ketchup.
  20. Enjoy tasty Italian Focaccia.
