About MASALA TOMATO Recipe

A yummy gravy curry goes very well with pulavs, biryanis, rotis etc

MASALA TOMATO

Ingredients to make MASALA TOMATO

  • two spoon groundnut
  • one spoon gingelly (til)
  • half spoon poppy seeds
  • two big ripe tomatoes
  • eight small ripe tomatoes
  • two spoon oil
  • half spoon mustard
  • half spoon jeera
  • salt to taste
  • pinch of turmeric
  • three green chillies slit
  • one cup finely chopped onion
  • ginger garlic paste
  • one spoon chilly powder
  • half spoon jeera dhania powder
  • half spoon garam masala
  • one spoon kasuri methi
  • chopped coriander for garnish

How to make MASALA TOMATO

  1. First dry roast groundnut, gingelly and poppy seeds. Grind to powder after cooling
  2. put the big tomatoes in boiling water for few minutes and puree it
  3. Heat oil in wok , add mustard, jeera,salt, slit green chillies and fry till golden brown
  4. Add ginger garlic paste, half cup water, tomato purée and allow it to boil
  5. Slit the small tomatoes on four sides and add
  6. Now add the ground masala, jeera dhania powder and crushed kasuri methi
  7. Allow it to boil for few minutes till oil oozes out. At this stage add garam masala powder
  8. dish out and garnish

My Tip:

You can use cut bigger tomatoes also instead of smaller ones. Same procedure can be followed with capsicum or big green (bajji) chillies
