ABOUT Tomato Bruschetta RECIPE

Bruschetta with tomato and basil! Chopped fresh tomatoes with garlic, basil, olive oil, and vinegar, served on toasted slices of French or Italian bread. this classic Italian appetizer is a perfect way to capture the flavors of garden ripened tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, and olive oil. Think of it as summer on toast. It’s perfect for a party because you can make a large batch of the topping ahead of time, as well as toasting baguette slices. Either bring out a bowl of the bruschetta topping for people to put on their own toasts, or do it for them right before serving.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 French bread loaf / baguette, Sliced
  2. 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  3. 1 clove of garlic
  4. 2 medium sized tomatoes chopped
  5. Few fresh basil leaves
  6. Olive oil
  7. 1 tsp Oregano
  8. pinch of salt and pepper
  9. 1 tsp Balsamic Vinegar ( Optional )

Instructions

  1. To Make the Topping First : In a bowl, add the finely chopped tomatoes, crushed oregano, roughly chopped basil leaves, chopped garlic, a pinch of pepper and salt.
  2. Add vinegar and extra virgin olive oil to the above ingredients and mix everything together.
  3. Keep the bowl in the fridge for about 10 mins. It taste lovely when chilled.
  4. To Make Bruschetta : Take the slice of bread and brush olive oil on both the sides of the bread.
  5. Grill the bread slices for about 1 minute on each side.
  6. Now, while the slices are warm, rub a clove of garlic on the sides of the bread to infuse the flavor.
  7. Top the slices with the tomato topping prepared.
  8. Pour little extra virgin olive oil over the topping.
  9. The classic Italian Bruschetta is ready to be served.
