Moong Dal prepared with bottle guard and tomato is a hit combination .Goes great with white rice.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 1 red dry chilly
  2. 1/2 cup bottle guard cubes
  3. 1/2 cup peas
  4. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  5. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  6. 1/2 tsp red chilly powder
  7. salt to taste
  8. 1 medium tomato chopped
  9. 1 tsp ghee
  10. 3 tsp olive oil
  11. 1/2 tsp Garam masala


  1. Take a flat pan,add oil .Once oil is hot,add dry red chilly,cumin seeds and tomato.Add salt.
  2. Add turmeric powder.
  3. Cut the bottle guard into medium pieces and boil it.Add it in the pan.
  4. Add peas and red chilly powder.
  5. Boil Moong Dal with water.
  6. Fry it for 2-3 minutes.Add the boiled Moong Dal,water and ginger paste.
  7. Add Garam Masala,ghee and serve hot.
