Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Red gram- 1 spoon
  2. Black gram-1 spoon
  3. Pepper-1/2 spoon
  4. Red chilli- 2-3
  5. Asafoetida-1 pinch
  6. Curry leaves- handful
  7. Turmeric powder-1/4 spoon
  8. Tamarind-small lemon size
  9. Salt- as required
  10. Ghee-2 spoon
  11. Mustard-1/2 spoon
  12. Oil-1 table spoon
  13. Dry turkey berries-2 spoons (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make thick tamarind juice and add turmeric powder and salt .
  2. Allow it to boil till raw smell comes out.
  3. In a flat pan add ghee and roast red gram, black gram,pepper, red chilli, curry leaves,
  4. Allow it to cool down for some time and blend it to fine paste by adding little water.
  5. Add this paste in tamarind mix and cook till starts thickening .
  6. Turn off the flame once oil comes to the corner
  7. For tempering, in a separate pan add 1 table spoon oil and fry mustard and curry leaves dry turkey berries(optional)
