Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Finely chopped tomato - 2
  2. Chopped onion - 1
  3. Garlic pods - 3 - 4
  4. Yellow urad lal - 1/2 tsp
  5. Chana dal - 1/2 tsp
  6. Salt - to taste
  7. Whole red chilly - 4 - 5
  8. Asafoetida - a pinch
  9. Curry leaves - 8 - 10
  10. Black mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  11. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  12. Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  13. Oil - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Take a blender add tomato,onion,garlic pods,whole red chilly and 4 - 5 curry leaves and blend it.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add asafoetida,cumin seeds and black mustard seeds to crackle.
  3. Now add urad dal and chana dal and saute for one mins and add curry leaves
  4. Add tomato paste and cook for five mins.
  5. Add sugar and salt and cook for two mins.
  6. Serve chilled with idly,dosa and uttapam.
