ABOUT Chilli Con Carne RECIPE

Chilli con carne is a classic hot and spicy filler that's high on flavour but low in salt. Chilli con carne means "chilli with meat".This dish is sure to satisfy even the most ardent of chilli fans. Using dark chocolate in this chilli con carne recipe adds a delicious depth of flavour that enriches the dish.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 300 gram boneless goat meat
  2. 2 teaspoon refined flour
  3. 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
  4. 5 teapoon olive oil
  5. 1/2 red capsicum
  6. 1 big sized onion
  7. 1/2 tomato
  8. 1 red chilli cut into halves
  9. 1 cup boiled red kidney beans
  10. 3 teaspoon garlic paste
  11. 2 teaspoon cumin powder
  12. 2 teaspoon paprika powder
  13. 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  14. 1/2 cup tomato puree
  15. 1 cup meat stock
  16. 15 gram dark chocolate
  17. 2 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves, for garnishing
  18. salt to taste


  1. 1. Cut boneless goat meat into small pieces.
  2. 2. Then finely chop onion, capsicum and tomato, keep them aside.
  3. 3. Heat 2 teaspoon olive oil in a pan, add in refined flour, salt and black pepper powder and mix well to avoid lumps.
  4. 4. Now add in the pieces of goat meat and stir for 2-3 minutes or until the flour mixture coats the meat well.
  5. 5. When the meat change its colour take them out from the pan and set aside.
  6. 6. In the same pan, heat 3 teaspoon olive oil and add in garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  7. 7. Now add in chopped onion and cook until it's soft and translucent.
  8. 8. When done, add red chilli, chopped tomato and chopped capsicum into it .
  9. 9. Stir occasionally until tomatoes and capsicums are soft.
  10. 10. Now add in paprika powder, cumin powder and dried oregano and mix well.
  11. 11. Add tomato puree into it and cook for 5 minutes or until the oil separates.
  12. 12. Now add salt and stir well.
  13. 13. Now add in the stir fried mutton pieces and mix.
  14. 14. Add meat stock into it, bring to the boil.
  15. 15. Reduce heat, cover and simmer gently for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  16. 16. Add in boiled red kidney beans, increase heat slightly and cook gently for further 10 minutes.
  17. 17. Roughly chop the dark chocolate and add into this prepared mixture.
  18. 18. Stir to combine and melt the chocolate, then simmer for another 10 minutes until the mixture has thickened slightly.
  19. 19. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  20. 20. Chilli con carne is ready to serve.
  21. 21. Serve hot .
