Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Green moog 250gms
  2. 1 onion finely chopped
  3. 1 tomato finely chopped
  4. 2 to 3 curry leaves
  5. 1/4 tspn turmeric powder
  6. 1 and 1/2 tspn Garam Masala
  7. 1 tbspn red chilli powder
  8. 1/4 tspn ginger garlic paste (optional)
  9. 1/2 cup coconut grated
  10. salt as per taste
  11. 3tbspn oil
  12. Corriander leaves (garnish)


  1. Firstly soak the green moog overnight (7to 8 hours)
  2. Next morning wash it under water and transfer in a plate
  3. Take a utensil add oil and keep on low flame
  4. Add chopped onion fry til it changes color
  5. Add ginger garlic paste,curry leaves and stir
  6. Add chopped tomato or u can also add tomato puree.Stir for a minute till tomato gets cooked
  7. Add turmeric,salt,chilli powder, Garam Masala and give a good stir
  8. Add the green moog and mix it well
  9. Add 1 and 1/2cup water depending on whether u want gravy or dry
  10. Once the whole mixture starts cooking well u can add grated coconut and give a good stir
  11. Cook until the green moog has turned soft i.e cooked
  12. Garnish with corriander
