ABOUT Gujrati Khandvi RECIPE

Khandvi is a well known appetizer. It is very tasy. But it was not easy for me. I tried lots of time then finally got this output.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 Cup Gram Flour
  2. 1 Cup curd
  3. 1/4 Teaspoon turmeric
  4. 1/2 TeaSpoon salt
  5. 3 tsp oil
  6. 1 tsp mustard seeds / Rai
  7. 1 pinch asafoetida / hing
  8. 4 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped


  1. In a big bowl add gram flour, curd, salt, asafoetida and mix well with a whisk forming a smooth flowing consistency.
  2. Take a vessel and add batter to it. On the flame and stir continuously until the batter starts to leave sides. Off the flame.
  3. Now take a spatula and spread it immediately over the plate.
  4. Spread it very thin. I used 4-5 plates.
  5. Let it cool for 10 minutes.
  6. Now cut it into 2 inches size. Roll tightly and make sure there should be no crack.
  7. Now heat oil, and add mustard seeds. When seeds started cracking off the flame.
  8. Pour it on rolled khandvi.
  9. Garnish it with chopped coriander.
  10. Finally, Gujarati khandvi is ready to serve with hot chai.
