BELL PEPPER STRAWBERRY PETHA

Ingredients to make BELL PEPPER STRAWBERRY PETHA

  • FOR STUFFING:
  • MILK - 1 LITRE
  • lemon JUICE- 1 TSP
  • sugar - 1/2 CUP
  • HERSHEY STRAWBERRY SYRUB - 1 TBLSP
  • ghee - 1 TSP
  • cardamom POWDER - 1/2 TSP
  • FOR OUTER COVER :
  • capsicum / BELL PEPPER - 3 NOS.
  • cloves - FEW FOR SEALING
  • sugar - 1 CUP
  • vinegar - 1 TBLSP

How to make BELL PEPPER STRAWBERRY PETHA

  1. FOR STUFFING :
  2. BOIL MILK AND ADD LEMON JUICE,
  3. WHEN MILK CURDLES, STAIN THE WATER AND WASH THE KOVA IN RUNNING WATER.
  4. HEAT GHEE IN PAN , ADD KOVA AND SAUTE FOR 3 MINS, FOLLOWED BY SUGAR AND MIX WELL
  5. SUGAR MELTS AND AFTER CONTINUOUS STIRRING, MOISTURE EVAPORATES COMPLETELY AND MIXTURE TURNS DRY
  6. FINALLY ADD ELAICHI POWDER AND REMOVE FORM FLAME. ADD STRAWBERRY SYRUB AND MIX WELL. KEEP IT ASIDE TILL USE
  7. FOR OUTER COVER.
  8. SLICE BELL PEPPER , LENGTHWISE (APPX 2" WIDTH TO FOLD)
  9. SOAK THE BELL PEPPER SLICES IN VINEGAR MIXED WATER FOR 4 HOURS.
  10. BOIL 2 CUPS OF WATER IN A WIDE VESSEL.
  11. ADD SOAKED BELL PEPPER ( DRAIN THE VINEGAR WATER) TO BOILING WATER AND BOIL FOR 5 MINS. THEN REMOVE THEM FROM WATER AND KEEP IT ASIDE.
  12. BOIL SUGAR WITH 2 CUPS OF WATER.
  13. ADD BELL PEPPERS TO SUGAR WATER AND BOIL TILL PEPPERS COOKED TO SOFT AND TRANSLUCENT
  14. REMOVE FROM SUGAR WATER AND LET IT DRY FOR ONE HOUR.
  15. PLACE A SPOONFUL OF STRAWBERRY KOVA IN MIDDLE OF EACH CAPSICUM SLICE AND FOLD IT IN TRIANGLE
  16. SEAL THE PETHAS WITH CLOVES.
  17. ENJOY CAPSICUM FLAVOURED STRAWBERRY PETHAS
