Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For crispy cracker base
  2. 1 cup maida
  3. 1/2 cup chilled butter cut in cubes
  4. Pinch of salt if not using salted butter
  5. Chilled water as required to bring dough together
  6. Toppings
  7. 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  8. 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
  9. 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
  10. 2 tsp oil
  11. 2 tsp red chilli paste (soak chillies in warm water and grind)
  12. 2 tsp brown sugar
  13. Salt and pepper to taste
  14. 2 tsp vinegar
  15. 5-6 basil leaves
  16. Other ingredients
  17. Few tomatoes slices
  18. 3 tbsp grated cheese (any)
  19. Salt and pepper to taste
  20. Few basil leaves

Instructions

  1. For base
  2. Mix butter and flour and rub it to bring it in bread crumbs consistency.
  3. Add chilled water to bring dough togethet
  4. Chill in fridge for 20 mins
  5. Roll the dough and cut in rectangular pieces.
  6. Prick with fork and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree for 20 mins
  7. For topping
  8. Heat a pan .
  9. Add oil to it.
  10. Then add finely chopped garlic and ginger.
  11. Saute for few mins then add chopped tomatoes
  12. Add chilli paste and sugar and cook
  13. Cook on low flame for 15-20 mins.
  14. Add basil leaves and vinegar and.switch off flame.
  15. On baked tart base first spread grated cheese.
  16. Then arrange tomato slices .
  17. Sprinkle salt and pepper and again top with cheese .
  18. Bake in a preheated oven at 190 degree for 8-10 mins
  19. Top these with prepared chilli jam and basil leaves and serve.
