Ingredients to make Potato 65

  • 4-5 medium sized par-boil potatoes or aloo
  • 3 tbsp purpose flour/maida
  • 3 tbsp corn flour
  • 7-8 curry leaves, chopped
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp tandoori masala
  • 2 to 3 tsp ginger garlic paste or crushed ginger garlic
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • few coriander for garnish
  • water as required
  • 1 cup hung curd
  • 1 Teaspoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 onion sliced
  • 3-4 curry leaves
  • salt as required
  • oil for frying
  • onion,cabbage,Carrot slice for serving
  • onion rings for serving

How to make Potato 65

  1. Par-boil the potatoes in a pressure cooker for 1-2 whistles.
  2. Make a thick batter with all the ingredients except for oil and potatoes, peel and dice the parboiled potatoes.
  3. Add the diced boiled potatoes to the batter.
  4. Fry the batter coated potatoes in hot oil till golden brown & crisp.
  5. Take oil in pan on medium heat add mustard seeds,when it cracks.., add onion sliced and curry leaves
  6. Add hung curd, cook for 2 minutes then add fried potatoes and cook for a while.
  7. Serve potato 65 hot garnished with coriander along with some some green chutney or tomato sauce and salad.

My Tip:

Do not overcook potatoes, you can avoid adding mustard seeds.
