Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Yellow wax peppers / Bananapeppers – 12
  2. Green chilies – 3, split lengthwise
  3. Roasted peanuts – peeled, ¾ cup
  4. Garlic - 2 tsp, crushed
  5. Salt – to taste
  6. Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  7. Cumin seeds – ¾ tsp
  8. Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
  9. Water – 1 & ½ cups
  10. Oil –4 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Cut the banana peppers lengthwise into 4 pieces. Cut each piece in half.In a skillet, heat oil. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  2. Add the garlic and fry it on low flame for a few seconds till it becomes aromatic.Add turmeric and sauté for a few seconds.
  3. Add the banana peppers and green chilies. Mix well.Add water and bring it to a boil. Cover the skillet partially and let it simmer for 10 minutes or till the chilies are done.
  4. Add roasted, ground peanuts and mix. Let the curry simmer for 3-4 minutes till the gravy thickens.Switch off the flame. Add the lemon juice and mix.
  5. Mirchikasalan is ready. Serve as a side dish with rotis.
