ABOUT Spicy fish head with tomatoes RECIPE

Thougj It is a bangali preparation but i tried to bring a twist in this recipe.this fingers licking recipe ,goes superbly with plain rice,roti as well.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Fish head 3
  2. Tomatoes 350 gm square diced
  3. Lamon juice 1 tbs
  4. Salt 1&1/2 tsp
  5. Tarmaric Powder 1/2 tsp
  6. Lantil 1/2 cup soaked
  7. Onion 1 finely sliced
  8. Garlic cloves 3 finely sliced
  9. Oil 1 tbs
  10. Cumin Powder 1/2 Tsp
  11. coriander powder 1 tsp
  12. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  13. Bay leaf 3
  14. Whole spice powder 1/2 tsp
  15. Whole mastard 1/3 tsp
  16. Pandan leaves 2 pcs
  17. Fresh coriander leaves 3 tbs
  18. Shredded ginger 1 tbs
  19. Fennel seeds 1/3 tsp

Instructions

  1. Clean and wash fish head thoroughly. Marinate with lamon juice and salt for 20 minutes.
  2. Stir fry fish heads until they coated with dark brown colour.keep aside.
  3. Boil lentils with 1&1/2 cup of water and salt.
  4. Don't over boil lentil.remove lentil from heat just before it started crackling.
  5. In a large pan pour 1 tbs oil, when it is well tampered add mastard seeds.
  6. Once mastard seeds started pattering add 2 pcs of pandan leaves,bay leaves.
  7. Add fennel seeds, sliced garlic.
  8. Once garlic turns pale brown colour add sliced onion.when onion becomes transparent add gradually,
  9. tarmaric powder, coriander powder,red chilli powder.
  10. Once oil floats from incorporated spices add whole spice powder,fish heads that fried previously.
  11. Add a little water and cook 3 or 5 minutes with a lid.
  12. Remove fish heads from gravy
  13. Pour gravy,into pre boiled lentils.add 300 GM diced tomatoes.give a stir.
  14. Cook for another 5-6 minutes.
  15. When gravy spread fragrance with vapour add a handful of fresh coriander leaves,1 tbs shredded fresh ginger.removed fish head...
  16. After 30 second turn off heat.
  17. Enjoy the delicacy of spicy fish head with tomatoes.
