ABOUT Hyderabadi Mirchi Bajji Ki Kadhi RECIPE

My favourite kadhi made with some leftover Hyderabadi Mirchi Bajji. It goes very well with jeera rice, plain biryani or pulao.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1-2 Mirchi bajji / bhajia / batter fried green chili fritters, sliced
  2. 1/2 cup yoghurt
  3. 3 cups water
  4. salt to taste
  5. 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
  6. 1/2 tsp. ginger paste
  7. 1/4 tsp. asafoetida
  8. 1 tsp. red chili powder
  9. 1 tsp. coriander-cumin powder
  10. 1 tbsp. oil
  11. 1 sprig curry leaves
  12. 1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
  13. 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
  14. coriander leaves to garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together yoghurt, water, salt, turmeric powder, ginger paste, asafoetida, red chili powder and coriander-cumin powder.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and temper with mustard seeds and cumin seeds. After it stops spluttering, add the yoghurt mix and simmer on a medium flame till it thickens to a desired consistency.
  3. While serving, arrange the chopped mirchi bhajias on it and pour the kadhi over it. Garnish with coriander leaves and relish with plain steamed rice, jeera rice, pulao, plain Biryani or any form of Indian bread.
