Tomato Chutney

Ingredients to make Tomato Chutney

  • Ripe tomatoes 6
  • dates half cup(deseed and cut into small pieces)
  • mango bar half cup(cut into small pieces)
  • cashewes 10-12
  • raisins 15-20( soaked in water)
  • sugar as per taste
  • salt 1/4 spoon
  • turmeric powder 1/4spoon
  • Panch phoron( Bengali five spices) one spoon
  • roasted cumin and coriander powder 1 spoon
  • lemon juice one spoon
  • mustard oil one spoon
  • water 2 cups

How to make Tomato Chutney

  1. cut the tomatoes into small pieces
  2. heat oil in a wok and add panch fhoron to it
  3. after getting nice aroma add tomatoes
  4. add salt and turmeric powder
  5. mix it well and cover the wok
  6. when the tomatoes get soft add dates and sugar to it
  7. mix it well and add water
  8. when it gets to boil add the pieces of mango bar
  9. add cashews and raisins
  10. when it becomes thick add roasted spices powder
  11. switch off the gas and add lemon juice and mix it well
  12. Serve with pulao, Khichdi, or anything of your choice
