A very delicious recipe that can be made as an offering for Ganesha

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the modak :-
  2. Rice flour - 4 heaped table spoons
  3. water - 1& half cup
  4. Ghee- 1 tspn
  5. salt - 2 pinches
  6. __________________________
  7. For the stuffing :-
  8. Chana Dal - 1/2 cup
  9. jaggery powdered - 4 tspns(adjust to taste)
  10. Freshly grated coconut - 2 tbspn
  11. cardamom powder- 1/4 tspn
  12. Ghee- 2 tbspn
  13. jaggery -
  14. Freshly grated coconut -

Instructions

  1. For the modak :-
  2. Take a vessel keep water for boiling
  3. Once it boils add salt and ghee and turn off the gas
  4. Now add the rice flour in it...Mix well and close it with a lid and let it rest for five minutes.
  5. Then later knead it to a smooth dough and keep aside closed...So that it does not dry.
  6. Steps in the making of modak
  7. Now for the stuffing :- Wash the chana dal...Soak for half an hour...
  8. Later pressure cook it...For one whistle....Reduce the flame to low and let it cook for another two minutes...
  9. Now heat a pan....Put ghee and then put the cooked chana dal mixture in it.
  10. Then add grated coconut and the cardamom powder....
  11. Once the mixture becomes thick turn off the gas...
  12. Let it cool down....
  13. Now using a mould put little kneaded rice flour in it ....Then put the stuffing inside it...And make modaks ...Do the same with all the remaining stuffing...
  14. Steam it later for five to seven minutes.... Steps in the making of the stuffing
  15. Your modaks are ready
  16. A cut piece...To show the stuffing..
