Farali french fries or vrat ke french fries are crunchy, crispy, and deep fried snack to make on fasting days. Perfect to have with tea and kids after school snack as well. Using rajgira flour makes it crunchy and a fasting recipe, but you can make it anytime even without fasting. My kids loved these farali french fries and promised me to stop eating McD’s french fries

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 Big long size potatoes
  2. 1 Cup rajgira or Amarnath flour
  3. 3 Tblsp arrowroot powder
  4. 1 Green chili finely chopped
  5. 1/2 Cup green coriander finely chopped
  6. 1 Tsp grated ginger
  7. Rock salt as per taste
  8. Approximately 3/4 Cup + 3 Tbsp water to make a batter
  9. Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. First of all, peel and clean potatoes. Cut them in slices either using a knife or with french fries cutter.
  2. In a mixing bowl add rajgira flour (aAmarnathflour), arrowroot powder, grated ginger, chopped chili and green coriander. Mix well.
  3. Using water make a thick batter and adjust salt as per taste.
  4. Add potato slices in the batter and mix well. Deep fry them till golden brown.
  5. Transfer them on a kitchen towel so that it can absorb extra oil.
  6. Farali french fries or vrat ke french fries are ready to serve with tea or anytime on your fasting day.
