ABOUT Chocolate Gulab Jamun Kheer RECIPE

I am a big fan of Gulab jamuns , love eating piping hot gulab jamuns. This time I made Chocolate Gulab Jamuns with Hershey's chocolate syrup and also dunked these gulab jamun in thickened milk to make delicious Chocolate Gulab Jamun Kheer.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Ingredients for Making Chocolate Gulab Jamun-
  2. Khoya or Mawa -100 grams
  3. Maida -2 tablespoons
  4. Milk Powder -2 tablespoons
  5. Sugar -2 teaspoons
  6. Green cardamom -4 crushed
  7. Baking powder-1/4 tsp
  8. Hershey's chocolate syrup -1/4 cup
  9. Ingredients for making seera or sugar syrup-
  10. Sugar -1 cup
  11. Water -3/4 cup
  12. Crushed green cardamom -2
  13. Ingredients for kheer-
  14. Milk-3 cups
  15. Sugar -2 tablespoons
  16. Green cardamom -2 crushed

Instructions

  1. Add mewa in a plate , mash it very well , then add sugar.
  2. Add crushed green cardamom , maida , milk powder and baking powder.
  3. Mash them all together properly.
  4. Add Hershey's chocolate syrup little by little and make a dough.
  5. Knead it properly to get a smooth dough .
  6. Divide the dough into 8 to 10 balls.
  7. In the mean time , take a gasproof wide pan , add sugar, water, cardamom powder and two small piece of lemon , lemon will prevent the caramelization of the syrup,
  8. Bring it to a boil.Then lower the heat and let the syrup simmer for 5 minutes. Once it’s a little sticky after 5 minutes, remove pan from heat and set aside. Cover with lid .Keep it warm.
  9. Take each ball in your hand and with soft hands roll each ball between your palm to get a no crack , smooth ball.
  10. Heat oil in wide kadai/pan on medium heat. Heat oil on medium heat and then lower the heat to low-medium. .
  11. Add the jamuns to the warm oil
  12. Fry until golden-brown, keep rotating the jamuns regularly with a spatula so that they get cooked till dark brown colour .
  13. Soak the gulab jamuns in warm sugar syrup. Let it soak the syrup for 20 minutes.
  14. Add milk in a heavy bottomed pan , add cardamom powder
  15. Bring the milk to boil , when milk starts boiling , lower the gas and cook it until milk is reduced to half.
  16. Add sugar , and cook until sugar is dissolved
  17. Remove from flame, let the milk come down to room temperature.
  18. Add few whole gulab jamuns.
  19. Crumble few gulab jamuns and add in to the kheer
  20. Your Chocolate Gulab Jamun Kheer is ready!
  21. Divide the Kheer in each bowl , and drizzle some chocolate syrup on top and mix with spoon
